Dunno what looks better, the Family or the pizza but both are great
That's definitely one Hell of a pie and the list of ingredients is top notch, haven't even smoked anything yet and that's giving me the munchies

I've never tried smoking a pizza. That's something I should probably try.

I know this is bumping an old post, but I saw this when gkrx7 inquired about pizzas on a yoder. Question - do you take out the heat plate when you cook pizzas like when u direct grill or do u leave it in? Thats one big Bahanga pizza and it sure looks great!! I gotta try that.

As I read through this post again I saw a lot of old names. Where'd some of these people go?

Yeah, this really is an old post. I am actually topped out at 18 lbs for a pizza!
Leave the plate in, plus I have the pizza pan sitting on 2 hardwood(oak) dowels about 1" diameter and 18" long. I set the dowels in the grill so they are from front to back and spaced far enough apart to support the pan without rocking.
By raising off of the grill grates an extra inch, it helps ensure I son't get any burnt crust in the pan.

Thanks Mark. Im glad u mentioned the dowels too. I take it you learned the hard way about burnt crust.

Actually, no Mike...it was kindov' luck. I tried the dowels...and they worked great!
Here's some pics of what a 18 1/2 pound pizza looks like! That's true weight AFTER precooking all the meats and veggies, then draining off the grease/juices. Pizza is 18" wide by 3" thick after cooking. You can see the dowels I was telling you about.

I am maxed out at 18.5 pounds. I need a bigger pan.

                          OKAY WINGMAN.....YOUR TURN!!!!!
