I like it. Looks old school and rustic. I have done salmon and steelhead this way though. It rocks.

I saw Raquel Welch, in "One Million Years B.C." cooking meat over a fire like that !!!

          Looked Mighty Tasty!!!

The Meat didn't look too bad either!

Nice set up. What sort of wood do you use?

So here we go Braaibroodjies as we call it here. But its a toasted sandwich on the grill.

                You need the following

                Thin sliced tomato
                Thin sliced onions
                Grated cheddar cheese
                Chutney
                Butter
                Sliced bread

Put butter on both insides of slices

Start you build on only one slice

                bread slice
                smear chutney
                put some cheese
                Onion
                Tomato
                Cheese
                Bread slice

Grill over low heat coals turning often until bread is crispy.

Add some heat then and turn often until golden brown.

Please note that the low heat and turning as often is crucial because the cheese has to melt inside and the onions cooked before the crust is brown.

Serve with any off your bbq meals.

Some lamb stew with bread. All done on the fire in a cast iron pot. We call it potbrood and potjiekos.

                      Mouthwatering
