The stuff i get from the pakistani grocery store :-)

Used to be thevstuff i got from cost-co. But costco have stopped selling a lot of the spices i used to buy, so now i go to the asian shop in burton instead.
cultural note: in england 'asian' refers exclusively to those from the indian subcontinent.
Not chinese, japanese or all the others you lot mistakenly refer to as 'asians :-)

Well..Hunky for me...because most of my dishes have some smoke added anyway. And truth be told..I find the Hunky stuff to be...err... “brighter”.

And if I AM doing a skillet/oven dish I can always get some smoke on the Hunky stuff..making it virtually Spanish.

Hungarian that I have smoked myself. Not that hard to smoke a pound on a Saturday afternoon drinking beers and listening to good music. You end up with enough to last the winter. :)

I keep both on hand (actually 3 types). Savory Spice Shoppe in Atlanta has a whole section of Paprika (like 7 types).

I love coming home. My back porch smells just like a BBQ joint.....

yes but china and japan are NOT in or part of asia, never have been. They're out on the right hand side of russia - you don't call any of the slavics asians do you ?
Asia is the large subcontinent below europe - not somewhere thousands of miles away in the west.

I've been living in recent years in Sacramento, CA and successfully grew my own paprika peppers, dried them and produced my own. I'm moving to Western Washington which is at the same latitude as Hungary so perhaps one of those varieties will find enough heat and mature fast enough.
