OK so here is the Paramedic view of your question.
The top number is or should be around 100 + your age, If you are a female -10. I am 52 male so mine should be 152
The bottom number the doctors like to see it below 80 (really when I was a teen)
We on the rescue dont treat unless it is over 100 for the low number.

      I take Hyzar for mine.
I would make a doctor apt as soon as I can not to scare ya but that is not good at all.

Hope this helps you some and GOOD LUCK.
YES I do work on a rescue unit and I am a Paramedic.

Don't miss that appointment young lady!

Get on the meds, then get on a regular excersize program. Even if you just walk a mile or so a day, get it done.

I went on them 5 years ago, finally lost 35 pounds and am off all the stuff. The excersize is important whether you stay on the meds or not.

Hope your appointment went well today and they got you all taken care of. I do not have high BP but I do have a fast heart rate and take metoprolol for that, which is a blood thinner. Keep us posted and I'm glad you are getting it checked.

One thing to consider is that those pharmacy BP machines can be inaccurate...hope that is the case here. I had some high readings at the the dr's office once, and I told them that I don't do well with waiting rooms...at the Dr's advice I did get a good home BP unit, and charted my readings for a couple of weeks during times of less stress and calm.

                    Hope things are ok.

Thoughts like that could raise all our BP's up. I think she's teasing us.
