  • Hey! Smoked-Meat, What's Cooking This Weekend?

What y'all cooking this weekend? Tonight?

Busy week, and brought home pizza tonight (loser I know), butt for Saturday got a rack of Baby Backs ready to roll, and the local market has Beef Tenderloin on sale, $7.99 for steaks and $6.99 for a whole one. Going to make a trip, maybe for the Monday Night Football game against Atlanta. Hope for a good game and Hawks win, butt if I was betting, I would take Atlanta. GO HAWKS though

What have y'all got going on, or planned?

I got three days off work

Started with some wings and twice vortexed potatoes tonight...

No idea what's up for tomorrow but Sunday will be some Weberized back ribs for the final race of the season...

Saturday and Monday are still up for discussion...
But the oven is dead so for now the only-est oven I have is Weber powered...

SV a rack of lamb for dinner tonight since it was in the fridge.
Have to make a trip to Costco tomorrow so who knows what will end up in the cart. Work is doing a potluck Monday so Sunday I will be making crack dessert, sopapilla cheesecake and firecrackers.
Sister has requested I bring home smoke salmon and candied pecans for Thanksgiving, should be a full weekend

Expecting nasty weather here, 40-50 mile wind gusts. Not exactly a perfect grilling and smoking scenario.
Lang 36 Patio, a few Webers, 2 Eggs, plenty of gadgets and a MES 40 Gen 2.5 electric for bacon and sausage.
My best asset however is the inspiration from the members on this forum.

Tonight I have 4 pounds of pork chops I bought on mark down (about to expire) for $0.89 a pound. Hit with a little mayo which was rubbed into a light coating all over the chops and sprinkled with my home made go-to rub. Currently in the MES Custom SS at 210* over hickory pellets.

Also mixed up a 7lb batch of my doctored AC Legg #116 snack stick recipe tonight. It's sitting in the fridge overnight and I will add the ECA, stuff and smoke in the MES Custom SS tomorrow. And the ground chuck was also marked down to $1.98 a pound (again expiring today).

Hard to argue with the prices.....
                        Dave

I love coming home. My back porch smells just like a BBQ joint.....

Not a thing, processing deer all weekend.
I just got back from my fall retreat in Kentucky and have two deer to process. And of course my oldest waited for me to get back in town so I can teach him how to process "his" deer.

And I just found out my nephew needs help with two. i guess his dad walked away from helping him and the kid has no clue.

I was all set on trying out some Amish bbq sauce I picked up on the way home.
