  • Photobucket work-around

If you open an old post of yours and find PB has screwed you too...

you can repair the post fairly expediently by opening the post in a second window and clicking on “edit post”.

in the first window click on the damned PB notice and that pict should open up in a new window. “download” the image and move over to your post in the second window.

“attach” the recent downloaded file or files..and upload to S-M. When done..”copy” the image links from S-M and paste them between the old IMG tags replacing the PB code.

You should be good to go then. Friggin’ PB!

I attempted this,,, when I click the photo
window opens to show PB has my image blocked with damned PB notice even to me...
there is a thumbnail img an I tried downloading it but its itty bitty...

this could make it extremely difficult to move my pics,,, (to postimg)considering PB aint even letting ME see them without searching them out individually...

    more coffee...

Did you delete your account? I think the photos are gone if you did.

I know a lot of people just got ticked and deleted everything on PB. Not me. I'm going to hog every bit of storage space I have there and keep it tied up until the end of time (or until THEY boot me). I'm not going to make anything convenient for them after they way they treated the internet communities. Hell, I even uploaded extra copies (with different names) of photos already in there to max out my storage. Small gesture, but it's the principal of the thing.

what I wound up doing was downloading my pics from PB, saving them again in my pictures folder, then uploading to a new host postimage.org, and finally editing the old post and updating. Major PIA, but it works

Only problem with that is you're still a slave to an outside host that could also disappear at any time or pull a photosuckit and kill the links.

Rich, I've been following the progress of the next update on the Chevereto support forum. The dev is working on the last couple of forum plugins for the software and an update should be coming real soon. It will make it super easy for anyone to upload a pic and post it in a message. Best part is you already host it so you could integrate it into the forum and not have to worry about losing any pics again by relying on outside hosting. It's litterally 3 steps to post a pic. Click the pic link, upload pic, hit the post button. That's it.

Yeah... I bought the basic package and it’s on the Mad Hunky domain..it’s a little “clunky” ATM..but it’s supposed to be getting a tuneup soon.

                              success using postimage,,,
got the img number off the "edit" page on my post
went to PB and copied direct link,,,over to postimage an d-load then replace post here pic for pic...
soon as I find my memory stick (or get a new one today) will get ALL my photos in it and can work from there hopefully easier...
this test I fixed my "beef ribs (finally!!!) thread...
