I was also trying to make dinner and rebuild my new/used slicer.
As i posted before, I have not been real successful at this whole bread thing...
FIU made it look so easy

I did learn a few things though and will have to try again.
I tried to cut the recipe in half to keep it manageable for me, (and the birds have enough to eat)
First the yeast did not "foam" like it is suppose to. I did use my thermo pen and added yeast at 110 degrees. I think my sea salt may have thrown it off a bit.
Then it seemed like it was never going to "rise" and I sort of figured out it was just going to be one of those tests that I do every once in a while. Maybe I kneeded it too long, salt was too strong, bad yeast etc.
Did I say there was a hockey game on?
Next thing I know I have to get dinner ready before the wife gets home. I take a look again and see that it sort of grew larger than it was.
Maybe there is a light at the end of the tunnel.....but rolling the dough out should be easy......just look at FIU pictures, his are beautiful.
Well a couple of them started to look like a pretzel.....Heck I could not even make a pretzel stick......
Oops I better turn the oven on, and get dinner ready.
Did I mention there was a hockey game on?
Well they don't look the greatest, and I don't think I will take them to the shop for my friends to try, but they do taste pretty good.
Can't wait to try the bagels.
