  • Smoked Buffalo Chex Mix

    Recipe:

    Buffalo Chex Mix

    4 cups Rice Chex® cereal
    4 cups Wheat Chex® cereal
    2 cups Parmesan-flavored crackers
    2 cups pretzel twists
    6 tablespoons butter
    2 1/2 tablespoons hot sauce
    1 packet ranch dressing mix
    2 teaspoons celery seed

    1. In large microwavable bowl, mix cereals, crackers and pretzels; set aside. In small microwavable bowl, microwave butter uncovered on High about 40 seconds or until melted. Stir in hot sauce and seasonings. Pour over cereal mixture; stir until evenly coated.

    STOP

    2. Microwave uncovered on High 4 to 5 minutes, thoroughly stirring every 2 minutes. Spread on paper towels to cool. Store in airtight container.

I stopped after step one. I also dropped the butter to 3 TB and added extra hot sauce until everything was coated really good. I put this mix in the smoker. Smoked at 225* for about 2 hours. So good and has a nice kick. If I can catch the fall batch of Smitty's, I'm going to add that to this recipe.

I used the Frank Buffalo Wings sauce:

I only had chex corn cereal and cheese-its. It still came out really good.

I'm going to try this gig. Did up some nuts several weeks ago and everyone loved them. This appears to be along the same line. Gotta love the wattburners for stuff like this. Nice post!
