      Great idea, for you!

      I tried regular fire brick and they blocked too much heat. Might have to give this one a try.

        Yeah the bricks made a great buffer between the pan and the hot coals...And it brought the pizza up nearer the lid so both the top and the bottom cooked at the same time...Another brainfart that worked out pretty well...

                    Not fire brick but they do see a fair amount of fire...They stay on the cart next to my grill and get called into action from time to time...

                    Pan is a 12" Lodge that usually fries chicken and stuff like that...

                    Since I don't have a pizza stone this seemed like a plan that would work...

                          Ingenious! Brilliant! Just a man and his grill...

                          And some for that pizza.
                          Lang 36 Patio, a few Webers, 2 Eggs, plenty of gadgets and a MES 40 Gen 2.5 electric for bacon and sausage.
                          My best asset however is the inspiration from the members on this forum.
