I wouldn't laugh!! That's a Smart thing to have!!!

I had one of mine get to Over 325°. It had a bad controller.
Luckily I was there & saw it, and killed the power.
I could hear the insulation crinkling inside the walls.
As it went down in Temp the noise got less & less, and I had to put my best ear against the wall to hear it, just before it stopped.

That's why they only have a setting that goes to 275°.

In response to the guy(can't read upwards at the moment) who mentioned needing to control the smoke.. Just noticed this in the manual(going to do my first smoke with it today).

So far, the smoker seems well thought out.

So far so good. Followed directions for the first smoke and it seems to be procuring smoke as it said it would and heating as expected. I put an external probe inside for interior temp monitoring and the probe is only reporting a 20 degree difference. I have the smoker set to 245 and the cabinet is at 225 - this I'd already an improvement from my MES variance of 40-50 degrees... Yes that's right, I need to keep my MES set at the max of 275 to hit 225 internally(after Masterbuilt sent me a new heating element due to the variance)

In case anyone is curious.. The app works decently too from a usability standpoint and easy to understand. Here's a screenshot from within the app. The probe temp drop is when I put the chicken in and stuck the probe in the thickest breast.

Most of the water in the pan had evaporated, so had to add more.. Another well thought feature built into the side of the unit.
