  • Baja Style Fish and Shrimp Tacos

In the mood for fish and shrimp tacos so I decided to make baja style tacos. If you've ever had tacos from Ensenada, Mexico then you know that's where the best fish and shrimp tacos come from. I made a beer batter with AP and seasonings and one of my favorite beers from down south Pacifico. I topped with shredded cabbage and baja style cream. And all held by some fresh made corn tortillas

    Corn Masa for the tortillas

    Tortilla press I use

    Tortilla fluffing up

The catfish and shrimp ready to dip in batter

    Beer batter

Cream topping looks similar to batter but oh so different

Some pcs before the second fry

here in the second fry...hmmm double fried

    My beer while I cooked

And finally a plated pic these things were outstanding

Living in San Diego county now and in So Cal most of my life, I have had some great fish and shrimp tacos. Yours are right up there with the best ones I have had. We used to go to Puerto Nuevo for the Lobster and fish tacos. You rocked it

                Thanks everyone!
@Scarbelly Puerto nuevo is one of my favorite places to go to when crossing down south.
@MrsB the cream is simple just get regular mayo and add some milk to loosen it up and add salt and pepper to taste, this recipe is my wife's grandmother that lives in Rosarito,Mexico and they've had seafood restaurants throughout the years.

Oh I totally forgot the most important ingredient in the cream is lime juice, and don't use lemon use only lime it makes a difference. Also just to taste.

Yep, with those home thrown corn tortillas, you definitely raised the bar on this one, Mario. Went to college in Phoenix and spent a lot of time and money in Puerto Penasco and some of the best Mexican food, including shrimp and fish tacos, I've ever had come from street vendors and looked very similar.

and some for a stellar job!
