  • Illinois Cats, wanna team up?

    After taking last year off after a pretty successfull first couple competitions, I kind of have the itch to maybe do one this season. Thing is Id rather not do it solo this time to make it more fun & less work.

    Anyone in the northern area of Illinois up for an event in Dwight, IL. on May 5th, 2012. Non KCBS event so it should be laid back/fun, and some different items to cook vs the usual suspects.

    Looking for 1 or as many as 3 folks to team up with. Looking to use the WSM, and a couple kettles, or a combination of other smokers. No electrics or gas allowed. Of course I will be picky and not use any enhanced meats.

    Saturday May 5, 2012 - 8:00 a.m. start, last turn in at 4:00 p.m.
    Dwight, IL.(Joliet area)
    $40 per team before 4/15/2012, $60 per team after that.

    Items to be cooked: Sausage, Chicken, Pork loin/shoulder, & pork ribs

    Anyone up for some bbq, smoke, and cold ones?

        I think there is a guy up in Michigan with a brand new, barely used Lang60 looking for somebody to team up with and drive him around, and do all the work for him..... You should hook up with him!

          yes....!

          he was going to be one of my first calls, I need some tips on cryo-aging pork and beef.
