Since this is the SCBA (South Carolina BBQ Assoc) we cook mainly butts for the contest. Some contests require us to cook another meat or two from time to time. This was a butts only contest, 16 of them or you could cook a whole hog plus 8 butts. My 3rd place was overall.

We were able to sell 5 whole butts so we didn't have to pull them all. Believe it or not we sold out in 2 hrs flat!! For such a little town to hold a very big contest in, people come for miles to buy the bbq. The contest provided two volunteers to help serve so that was a big help too.

Last contest of the year is the weekend of Dec 9-10 in Conway, SC.
