Came home from work the other day and found a big ass box on the porch...
Pretty damn sure I didn't order anything...
Shipping label said it was from agri-products or something like that
Ripped it open and found a 22 inch discada! YES!!!
Turns out that a good friend sent the package...
He said I needed it...
Then he said something about after I learn how to use it I can teach him how to use his
That will be like the blind leading the blind
So I cleaned it up according to the web site directions...Ended up with bare metal that started to show surface rust as soon as I dried it...
Decided to use the turkey fryer to season it with flax seed oil...
But I was only seasoning the center of the disc and the rest just got sticky...
So I went this way...
A chimney of lit coals on top of a chimney of unlit coals...
Disc fits right on the kettle...Handles give just enough gap to keep the coals burning...
This method got the whole damn thing smoking...Aint gonna be no sticky this time...
then I pinched the intake way down and placed the Weber lid on top and let it ride a couple of hours...
When I couldn't stand it any more I melted a T. of butter...
Way too hot still...Burnt the butter...Oh well...
The egg test...
And the flip ...Slick as can be...
So I think this disc thing will have a huge learning curve but I know it's gonna be fun
