      i use a similar brine.......but we heat it to help also with the dissolving of the powders..........then use ice to cool it down.............we, i should say, SHE, know how much ice to add, so the amount of water in the end comes out at what its supposed to be................

        Boy that sure is some good lookin' chikin Tip. I'm comin' to your house for one of them lunches. Thanks for all the recipes. I have them squirreled away in my files for when my UDS is finished.

            or do like i do..............dehydrate the apples, and grind em up in a coffee grinder..........excellant
