  • Hello from NW Iowa

Hi all. I'm Drew and live in NW Iowa. For years I grilled and smoked on a Chargriller side box. Begging that thing to get up to temp and all the fuel it used got old. Now I'm using an Akorn, and I truly love it. I also have a real nice gasser, but that poor fella hasn't been rolled out of the garage since the Akorn followed me home.
I'm looking forward to hanging out here and trading tips and such.

I spent several years using the Chagriller smoker and a smaller Chargriller for grilling...They taught me a lot...BUT i used the CG smoker as a stick burner rather than a charcoal smoker....Getting up to temp was never a problem...Keeping the temp down was my challenge...

        Welcome to the forums...
I'm anxious to see what you got going on with the Akorn...

from DelaWhere! You came to the right place!

My first smokers were Chargrillers (2). Learned them, competed with them, did well with them. Modded out the arse tho.

                              Drinks well with others
