  • Making Some Jerky

    Time for some more jerky.

Got 5 pounds of top round in the Mad Hunky Original Jerky Cure and Seasoning. Can't beat it for convenience.

Double racks of sorts on the Snp because I haven't built my jerky smoker yet. Hickory smoke.

And as always seems to be the case when I smoke jerky, it's windy so I'm trying to keep temps even end to end.

Not working out so well on the temps but I'll just rotate the pieces as they get done.

    More later.

Ship it to Tulsa when you are finished.

Some days I think Bravo Zulu, other days it's more like Whiskey Tango Foxtrot...

I would but I can't make enough at one time to motivate me to share very much.

Had to get a bit more aggressive with the wind break.

Engineered some high tech fastners . . .

The smoker is pretty well protected now though.

I guess on the bright side there should be plenty of air movement over the top to help carry the moisture coming out of the jerky away.

I love jerky threads...I love jerky

I couldn't smoke or grill without my windbreak...Well at least in the winter time...Summer winds are deflected by the house up to around 45 mph... After that it's a crapshoot...

I used to think it got windy here. Until I started hanging out with you guys.

Here 10 to 15 mph is pretty annoying. 20+ is downright "windy".

              35+ is a major event.

X2... excellent point on the convection/moisture evacuation issue.

                        All done.

Apparently I need a little steadier hand for the extreme closeups.

                        Pretty tasty.

                        Hope it lasts past Tuesday.

                        Thanks for looking.
