Anyway, like I was sayin', turkey is the fruit of the land. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it, sous vide it, smoke it, bacon wrap it. Dey's uh, turkey -kabobs, turkey creole, turkey gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple turkey , lemon turkey , coconut turkey , pepper turkey , turkey soup, turkey stew, turkey salad, turkey and potatoes, turkey burger, turkey sandwich. That- that's about it.

It's kind of difficult to cut a turkey in half while frozen, to get the giblets out also. He's also cooking it just for sammies so a lot of seasoning is not required. I would at least wash it and re bag it. I still don't think it's a good idea to cook whole, but it works for him.
I have cut many frozen turkies in half. ;)

Read this for a discussion on why cooking a big turkey (or any meat) directly from frozen is not a bad idea, food safety considerations:

                        http://www.nytimes.com/2011/06/08/di...ook.html?_r=2&

I will have a large frozen 7-bone prime rib cooked directly from frozen to perfection, set-&-forget sous vide method for next week.

Some kind of fuzzy math goin' on here, 100 divided by .39 equals just north of 250 pounds, still a lot of turkey though.

                            Yea, but it's .$39 a pound Times $100 so 390lbs. I might have exaggerated just a bit!
