There's so much I wanna do with this thing! Yeah, steak is a good thought... I was leaning towards pork chops as a first timer, butt steak is right up there too.
Dammit I cannot wait to get this machine!

How long does it take to cook a 1 inch thick steak to 130?

I don't know yet... Never done this. I'm thinking take it to 120-125 or so, and sear it on the grill. Minutes. Stay tuned...

Looking forward to seeing how this goes.

Things are about to get crazy here for the next year+ or so. Might be the perfect solution for the Mrs.

A 1" steak cooked to 130F takes an hour. The cool thing is they give you a minimum/maximum time. In this case is 1 hr. min./4 hours max.

Bear with me on this... The flavor and juicyness is locked in, Just sear and serve. Worth the wait I'm told. Haven't done it yet... butt REALLY looking forward to it!

And the nice thing is you can cook direct from the freezer, no need to thaw.

Have you tried to have bottom round steak medium rare? Not very good. Way too chewy.

Unless you sous vide. Here is my video of what sous vide can do. Fork tender bottom round steak medium rare. Why spend the money for pricey cuts?
