Made dough. Here is where I need help. I don't do pastry or bread because I have no counter space, so when they said add enough buttermilk to form a soft dough, I was clueless. My dough ended up soft, but sort of sticky, so I kinda' had to glop it on and smooth it out as best I could. Any help here would be appreciated.

I don't think you need any help at all, Lena. I believe a soft dough is supposed to be real sticky and it sounds like you nailed that! Your cobbler looks fantastic! I haven't gotten any fresh peaches yet this year but can't wait until I do.

Looks good from here! Some cobbler's use just a box of yellow cake mix. If not doing a crumble that's the route I go. I wanna say you just sprinkle it on top. I'll check my recipe.

Yes, I do that a lot at the farm for the convenience. 2 cans fruit, box of cake mix poured on top of fruit and then a stick of butter cut up and on top of the cake mix. Easy and hard to mess up!
