Hi All,

Been a while since I have posted, been busy trying to rent apts and helping the twins with their band.

If they are finalist, my 13 year old twins--- http://fyverock.com/] -----may compete in the teen rock band competition..........

and I was wondering about either competing in the BBQ comp or just showing up with some tailgating smokers as a vendor? My problem is I have never done a comp before.

Anyone already committed to this?

I was just talking about this with a buddy of mine yesterday. I'm about 30 min from the event and was planning to go as a spectator :). I've never been to a comp and want to see how thing work. I think Yankee Rob is competing at this one.

I think I am gonna go for it. I am taking a KCBS judge class in April with a friend from MAss. We hope to enter this comp as the "BackYard BBQ Dads"

Hi Dave, that KCBS Judging class is in Maynard, MA on April 26. It is put on by NEBS, and by signing up for it you automatically become a member of KCBS. I believe there are still openings if you would like to attend. Look on the NEBS web page to find the particulars. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll get you the link.

Their web page is always a bit strange. If you are on their home page just scroll down past the cooking class to 2009 Schedule of events click on the gray box and the schedule should appear. Scroll down to the cooking class and click download application. That should do it for you. If that doesn't work here is an email address for the guy in charge: KDAKAI@NEBS.ORG
