  • NJ State BBQ Championship this weekend

BBQ & Blues!! Location, North Wildwood, NJ. I'm sure it's too late to enter, but if you're in teh area and looking for something to do for the weekend, it's a 3 day event...well 2 1/2 days. An excuse to drive down the shore and hang at the beach...and while down there you could sample some of the best sweet corn in the country!!

Yeah, I tried to get in as a competitor a few years back... it's impossible. There's a waiting list a mile long. They used to do a lottery for awhile, dunno if they still do.

    Ditto on the sweet corn!!

    Drinks well with others

I think because of where it's located, they only have 60 or so spaces for competitors. Pretty tight.

60's a pretty big field. KCBS defines a "state championship" at 35 teams.

Is it worth going to? I'm about an hour 20 minutes away and thinking I might make a day trip on Saturday or Sunday?
