  • Apple smoked shrimp and kielbasa

I've been hungry for shrimp and I've been sitting on a Creole shrimp recipe so it was time. Ended up slicing up some kielbasa and throwing it in too. Did two pans... One with Creole and one with MHGP.

    Here's what I did....

    1 lb shrimp per pan
About 1 lb kielbasa (I think can't remember how big the package was)
2 tsp Creole (or MHGP). Will be adding much more next time of each
    1 tbsp minced garlic
Bunch of grinds of black pepper (didn't measure)
    1.5 sticks butter
    1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce

Preheated smoker to about 250 F. Added one chunk of apple wood. Once it was smoking added pans to smoker. Stirred a few times to get it mixed up. Pulled chip pan at about 25 min. Didn't want to go crazy on the smoke. Sharp were done at about the 35 min mark. Not over cooked.

Over all nice flavor and good smoke level. Will def add this to the list of favorites.

Anyone else do anything like this?

Forgot to take a picture until it was almost gone. Oops...guess I was too hungry.

I'd take a big scoop over a bowl of popcorn rice.

Great little cookout last night. Next time I'll do more shrimp and less kielbasa since everyone ate more shrimp.

A friend brought over four racks of baby backs he smoked on his MES. It was a good time. Especially when it ended with a Stanley Cup championship. Let's go pens!!
