  • Redneck Bar Fire Crackers - another use for Smitty's Spice.

First of all, I think these things are ridiculous.

    Ridiculously easy

    Ridiculously cheap

Ridiculously awesome - you won't eat just one. And if you happen to have a little summer sausage or smoked cheese, KATIE BAR THE DOOR AND GET ME ANOTHER BEER!

Here we go with the typical players...you could use other types of crackers, or the little oyster crackers would be good too. I like the standard saltines.

Typically I like the Fiesta ranch as my favorite, and today I'm gonna add some butter flavored oil.

Put the entire box of crackers in a large zip lock bag...this one is a 2.5 gallon jumbo.

measure out a cup or maybe 1 1/4 cup oil.

Add the ranch dressing, 2 tablespoons of red pepper flakes, and I put in 1/2 teaspoon of smitty's

I nuke it for a short time to warm the oil up and stir it to make sure everything is dissolved.

    Dump it over the saltines.

Put some air in the bag, zip it shut and rotate it so everything gets coated.

Grab a beer and try to eat just one.

The oil absorbs and these are not greasy. The smitty's is awesome with this, but I bet a little MH general Purpose would be killer too. Add whatever you like, but the basic recipe is awesome just as written.

No smoke, but you could certainly experiment with that. This is just a basic palette for you guys to cusomize, but they are delicious as written. Typically just use the canola oil...I'm experimenting a bit today.

The red pepper flakes kinda sneak up on ya...I'll get one and crunch on that for a while and the next thing I know, DAMN! Certainly subbing the smitty's all the way for the flakes would be awesome. They would really be Fire Crackers!

Been making variations of these for some time now. Always keep them on hand and hard to eat just regular crackers anymore. Last batch got a healthy dose of Hot Whang...you can also use broken pieces of hard pretzels instead of crackers, also a very nice snack.

Just made a big batch of this with Ritz (broken up), rice chex, Cheetos and Fritos. Used oil/butter mix, regular Ranch, 4 T Red pepper flakes, 4 T Hot Wang, jalapeno salt, thai pepper salt and scotch bonnet salt. These rock! Nice burn, butt wont kill a guy. Kudos Dana!
