  • Any ideas for a Cray?

    Gday,

I've got one of these rocklobsters left, called Crayfish here, or just Cray.

Tempted to go the usual of a garlic butter on the grill. Maybe something similar with some abalone I have in the freezer.

I'm open to any ideas for something different though!

        G'day mate!

I live in the great state of Washington, USA and we have a lot of available seafood around us (Salmon, Steelhead, Halibut, Sturgeon, Shrimp, Geoducks, Crab, Oysters, Clams, etc.). They are all great prepared well In My Opinion, be it grilled, sautéed, smoked, baked, canned, pickled, etc....

I feel fortunate that where I live, and thanks to the friends and family around me, I think I have either cooked/prepared/preserved or eaten, pretty much everything available from the local Ocean and its tributaries. From either my own cooking, friends/family or local restaurants....

That said, I personally have "MY OWN" 2 personal ways of eating seafood/shellfish and fish available here... Cioppino..... And Fritters, or what would be probably commonly known as "Crab Cakes"..... just substitute your choice of fish/seafood for the Crab.

Just my opinions and thoughts .... I think I have had seafood/fish prepared every way imaginable, but always go back to fritters, or get the stuff for Ciopinno and get after it.

        Good Luck!
