Got some fresh pork from the packing house. No weights listed on them butt they're vac packed same as in the store. Weighed the butt on a cheapo scale and it's about 12 lbs. Also have an 8 lb loin that I'll be smoking half of. (The other half is going to be canadian bacon) New charcoal basket in place and found some GFS lump. Gonna be a good weekend. :)

Ok ok I chickened out. Got these out and opened up the package....
Inside was the monster butt and a loin.....
Opened the butt pack and it was cut in two. Well actually 1/3 and 2/3. Since it was getting late I decided to smoke the smaller one last night and do the big one today. This is #1 ready for foil....
Took to 200 and rested an hour....
Pulled and ready for lunch sammies....
#2 at 155 just a few minutes ago.....
Should have plenty PP for a while. :)Smoke n Pit

Butt #2 is done and pulled. Great yeild from this one. The smaller part seemed to have as much fat as this one.
Rested.....
Pulled....
Smoked with cherry and hickory on the first one and smoked the second with apple. I'm as happy as Rosie O'Donnell at a Krispy Kreme factory.Last edited by Smoking Gun; 02-22-2009, 10:34 AM.Smoke n Pit
