  • Maverick ET-732 Dual probe Digital Wireless Thermometer

Hi all, I just received a new Maverick Redi Chek ET-732 from Maverick to test and review. This model has had many improvements made over the ET-73. Maverick states the Max temp is 716 degrees and the range is 300 feet. I have heard this is line of sight. They added external antennas and relocated the power switch on the transmitter from the inside of the battery door to the back of the unit making it much easier to turn the unit on and off. I will be testing the distance through walls on multi floor levels etc. My ET-73 served me well and finally quit after a year when I accidently knocked it off my two story deck. Oops!

I did an un-boxing video today and will follow this up with more video that demonstrates its functionality as well as features.

Cool. Was hoping someone did a review on this. I have sorta abused my 73, time for a new one. That on/off button behind the battery slide was a pain in the ass.

Have you tried/done the internal mods to your 73 for extending the range?

Yes, soldering on the little antenna thingy.
I felt like doing it, but the feeling went away, so I still go outside to look at my therm

You should try it, don't be scared. I mean if you F it up, then you can justify buying the new one

I just got another new one for Xmas so I am scared to screw it up. But then again if I screw it up I have a back up. How about you do it first and let me know how it goes and if it worked for you. haha

Actually, I already busted my receiver. My fat stubby sausage fingers broke off that tiny little on/off switch

So I am in the market for a whole new setup

My review will be an ongoing one. :-) The only complaints I had about the ET-73 was the hidden power switch and the short range. Outside of that I did allot of cooking with it. I'll send the link to the review page when I get the thing up on my site tomorrow.

I also got in a big box of assorted rubs, brines and sauces to test.
Smoke it.. and they will come!

Hi all! I did a range test with the ET-732 today and it was amazing. My cooker is located on the back of my deck and I was able to receive a signal downstairs and out the front door and across the street! Farther then I would ever go with the thing. It's now monitoring my cooker temp while my Spare Ribs are smoking.

Here's the link to my review page with the videos. I will post up top too.

Ken, I gave this site a plug in the range test video by displaying your URL.
