  • Alaskan King Crab & Shrimp in a Cajun Butter sauce over Flat Iron Steak

Hi all! I have been working on this one for the last week. Mostly to find the perfect cut of beef as well as get the Cajun butter sauce right.

I have eaten some great cuts of beef this entire week. It was like I died and went to heaven! And about then my day job yanked my butt back down to reality...

    So here it is...

    Recipe - http://www.smokingpit.com/recipes/Al...Iron-Steak.htm

    Steaks

Two 8 to 12 oz. Flat Iron Steaks
Mad Hunky Rub - No Salt
    Garlic powder to taste
    Mrs. Dash Steak Seasoning

    Cajun Butter Sauce
1 1/2 sticks no salt butter
1 to 2 tsp Mad Hunky no salt rub
    1 tsp crushed Rosemary
    1 tsp ground Thyme
    2 tsp red pepper flakes
    3 cloves fresh chopped garlic
    1/2 to 1 cup mushrooms

    Crab
1/2 lbs. Alaskan King Crab Legs
    Inject with Cajun butter sauce

    Shrimp
1/2 lbs. medium jumbo shrimp - De-veined and shelled.

Here's the video. This was an amazing dinner to say the least.

    Awesome, simply fan-fuggin-tastic

Cajun butter recipe sounded great to begin with but noticed you added worcy to it in the video and that really seemed like it would make it all come together beautifully.

Neat idea injecting the crab legs and loved the whole cooking process done on the yoder but I do have one small complaint... I love a good cut open shot of some meat but to take 2 taste samples right in front of us, that just wasn't right! I mean sure, you paid for it, you seasoned it, you cooked it and you should definitely be allowed to eat it but I shouldn't have to sit here and watch, almost coming to tears trying to imagine how amazing those bites must have been!!!

The griddle is a Weber product. Don @ All things BBQ sent it to me to play around with. I'm not sure what they cost. I do know I will be using it often. I like the thing!

Thanks all for your going comments.

Very good question and worthy of it's own thread. I didn't have the answer so found a great article with pics an everything.
