  • SD CARD CLEANOUT feat. Smokey Joe, Carne Asada, TriTip, Chuck Roast, and a Kettle Mod

    Title character max out

Anyhow, I got a bunch of pics, and I figured I'd Smörgåsbord them into one post. So here goes...

    CHAPTERS
    01. CARNE & POLLO ASADA
    02. SALMON ON THE SMOKEY JOE
    03. TRI TIP STRIPS ON THE SMOKEY JOE
    04. CHUCK ROAST ON THE KETTLE

CHAPTER 1: CARNE & POLLO ASADA

Pollo & Carne Asada from our favorite lil Carneceria

    Grease fire

    Marinated Ranchera Meat

    Yellow Chicken

Cut up and made tacos. Used some Muenster cheese which went surprisingly well w/ the carne

CHAPTER 2: SALMON ON THE SMOKEY JOE

I've been doing some serious experimenting w/ my Smokey Joe. Here's some Salmon I tried to 'indirect'

It really doesn't take a lot of coals, but I seem to overdo it each time

Used a weber foil pan (meant for catching grease on propane grill) to cook them in. Butter and some Weber Salmon seasoning went in the bottom

Salmon was slathered in this Carolina Mustard I got from Restaurant Depot. I highly recommend this stuff. Goes great on wins too. Then a lil salmon seasoning, and topped w/ some mixed bbq sauce

CHAPTER 3: TRI TIP STRIPS ON THE SMOKEY JOE

My wife bought a cheap packet of lo-mein noodles that go good w/ rice, so I found some TriTip (stripped) in the freezer and figured it'd go well w/ a terryaki dish

I jaccarded the life out of them, and then soaked in Yoshidas for a coupla hours

Seared them hot on all sides before slicing and adding the the noodles

CHAPTER 4: CHUCK ROAST ON THE KETTLE

The Chuck Roast looked really good at WalMart on Saturday, so I picked one up. Much better looking than our Kroger grocery stores selection. Nice marbling

Seasoned w/ Slap Yo Daddy's rub. Injected w/ Butcher BBQ PORK injection

Here is a newly installed Weber One-Touch Cleaning system.

Mikey Kettle set-up. Fresh foil & errrrthang

Lit w/ one weber starter cube

Smoked for about 3 hours, and foiled for a couple more.

Used Stubbs marinade as my foiling liquid w/ a lil more rub.

Added the leftover tritip, and my wife made shredded beef chimichangas for sunday football. They were a treat (sorry no pics of those)

OK this is points worthy for two reasons..

    1) You still have all the pictures on the SD card and did not delete them
    2) Awesome Multiple Cooks...

    Nicely Done!

You GOTTA try it then. A restaurant down in Tubac Arizona does it, and we've been copying it ever since.

My wife doesn't like salmon too much, but she loves this. Stick to a KC style tho

                            Thanks everyone!
