OK so I have been a little busy moving from one hobby shop to another and liquidating 8 acres of stuff, so Mrs nickel decided she wanted pulled pork and was not going to wait for me.

She is new to the food porn picture taking thing but they are OK. She even tried to get an action photo while the the mixer was running.....

    The setup

    The meat

She used the Black and Decker one and she thought it was still too fast on the lowest setting. Looks like it got the job done.

She said it took longer to take the pictures than to shred the meat.

I will look for a slower mixer for her if she wants to keep this up...

Nice! Glad to hear it worked so fast for her. I have a Cuisinart 6 speed with a turbo button. I start on low and hit the turbo towards the end. Seems to work well that way.

I got a chance to use the Pork n Pull last weekend. Got a late start in the day and the Butts didn't get done til after midnight. I was dead tired and wanted to go to bed for an early morning of softball. The pork n pull allowed me to pull hot without letting cool off. I used a couple forks to separate into large chunks and eliminate as much fat as possible. Then threw those chunks into a bowl and let the tool do its magic. I had both Butts pulled and bagged in less than 5 minutes. It worked great and saved me from burning my hands on a super hot butt. Next time I will get a taller bowl or a bucket, because I did have a few chunks fling out, but I probably put too much in the bowl at once. I'm very pleased with the results and look forward to trying it on pulled chicken and beef in the near future. Thanks for letting me be a part of this test!

Ohhh! That would save some frozen fingers if that works.

It works fine. Got more to do on the project....be back with pics. Had a couple small spots didn't mix in, little touch by hand, be fine! Stand mixer better (+-) but this more flexible, bigger container. No glass or ceramic!!!

I'm always mixing 7-8 lbs. of ground beef for burgers or meatloaf because I make enough to eat on for a week. I usually mix by hand and I'm thinking the Pork N Pull might just work for that as well.
Smoke it.. and they will come!

                    • I FINALLY got to a butt last week. Unfortunately, it was an onrey pig. Even at 205 the one side by the bone was stubborn. But the thing worked great on the money muscle portion. Nice consistency, and pretty dang quick. Ummm use a high sided bowl container... hehe...

                      • Haven't had a chance to cook in weeks, out of town again with family illnesses, so very sorry about the delay in reporting back.

However, this weekend life seemed to get somewhat back to normal so I tried out the Pork N' Pull twice. I used it on a pork butt Saturday and then to mix up a meat loaf on Sunday. The meat loaf was ground beef, chorizo, taco seasoning, adobo peppers, cheese and all the meat loaf stuff like crumbs, onions, egg, pepper ....... topped with enchilada sauce and cheese. Just an experiment, not bad but thinking about adjustments already.

Now, on to the Pork N' Pull. It made short order of the pork butt, as Rich said, I learned quickly to use a deeper bowl. I also wish my mixer had yet another slower speed. It was a little tough to hang on to the bowl and the mixer at the same time, I think because of the speed issue. I had the wife hod the bowl and I two handed the mixer, that got the job done quickly. After my Saturday learnings, on Sunday I threw the burger, chorizo and everything else into a BIGGER bowl, had the wife hold the bowl, I ran the mixer through it and in a few minutes was ready to loaf it up. Liked that a lot better than running my hands through that really cold meat.

All in all, a pretty good tool, we'll use it again I'm sure, plus I am sure there are going to be other applications. Once we went to a bigger bowl and if I can find a slower low speed mixer I could see using it more often that not for things like pulling pork, mixing meats, etc.

Thanks for the opportunity to try it out.

                        • just don't see a need for it with pulled pork as I like doing that :-)
And the pics don't show the same consistency I get with fingers and bear paws.

But mixing up small amounts of sausage in the bowl - now that's a bloody good idea.

I think I've got a new 'at work' project for Dave :-)
I could print some but don't think they'd be strong enough.

So I need to get a spare set of beaters for my hand mixer and then dave can cut the whisks off and weld some bendy ends on :-)

                          • I used mine this weekend to pull chicken breasts. I used the Pork-N-Pull with an old General Electric hand mixer that looks like it's from the late 70's. The motor is a but week from it's age. At first it tossed the chicken breasts about as I soon realized the bowl was too bug for doing only 4 breasts. A smaller more confined space with talker sides would gave been optimal. Having said that it quickly made short order of the four chicken breasts that just came out of my cooker. I really likes the texture of the shredded chicken compared to hand pulling or chopping. We used this chicken for salads, soft tacos and a couple Sammie's. It shredded the hot chicken in a minute or so and without pain or discomfort to my hands due to the heat of the chicken. We were pleasantly surprised. I'm going to buy a mixing bowl mire suited for use with the Pork-N-Pull and will do a video for my site on it. I will be using it more. Next I want to mix ground beef with it. So far I like it. More to come.
Smoke it.. and they will come!

                            • Hello Folks,

The Pork-N-Pull did arrive and I have to echo the sentiments on the packaging which has been reported as fixed! THANKS!

I tried to get it to work in my Proctor-Silex 3 hand mixer and it did not fit. Not surprising as this thing is ancient. The Pork-N-Pull shafts are just a hair to long to lock into it.

I apologize in advance for not getting back with the review sooner but have had some trips to the ER for a lung issue. If anyone has a spare set (lungs that is...LOL) I could use them

In all seriousness though, feeling a bit better yesterday and today so I started a 9 lb butt this morning and will be heading to the local Wally World to pick up a PROPER mixer to test these bad boys this evening when the butt is done.

Will post back some pics and review when completed!!!

Thanks again and will be certain to get some "juicy" pictures up!

                              Mike :)
