  • Another chuckie

    Just put on a 4.5 lb chuckie on the stumps. Smoker temp is 250. Rubbed w canola oil and a mix of big Ron's and mad hunky. It rested in the fridge overnight. Had a great aroma when I unwrapped it this am.
    It's frickin' cold here in s Louisiana with temps around 28.

      Wow... 28°...that IS cold for down there...heck...we got 15 here in MI ;{)

        28 is unusually cold for this area. Been at those temps for two days. Supposed to be warming up today and tomorrow.
        I love pulled beef. The prices have skyrocketed so I've been waiting for them to go on sale. Picked this one up for $2.67/lb.
        Planning on sammies and taco's for the saints game today.

          BTW Rich, you can have that 15* weather and snow. That just isn't for me. I prefer the heat and humidity here in the south.

            Just pulled it at 180 and placed in a Dutch oven and into the oven. I added onions, bell peppers, garlic, and one jalapeño. Also 2 cups beef broth and 1 bottle of Abita amber.

              Lookin' goooood!
              Lang 36 Patio, a few Webers, 2 Eggs, plenty of gadgets and a MES 40 Gen 2.5 electric for bacon and sausage.
              My best asset however is the inspiration from the members on this forum.
