  • Pumpkin Seeds

I looked around the forum and didn't see anything.....does anyone make pumpkin seeds in a dehydrator instead of the oven? We roast pumpkin seeds in the oven every year but I was thinking the dehydrator would work too and they might not get over cooked as easily. I see Google turns up some results for it but we all know there are some bad ideas on the Google machine.

I give 'em a sprinkle of Mad Hunky General Purpose. Kinda like Jerky...you can't stay out of 'em.

No time to play with the dehydrator so I baked them like usual. 250 for an hour and 20 min. Soaked in water over night and then tossed in some oil. Salted one pan after 40 min. Wing dust on the other pan after an hour. Don't want the seasoning to burn so I hit them last minute.

If I find some pumpkins on sale I will try a batch in the dehydrator next week.

Good call on the later seasoning... I’ll be making some soon. Soon as Halloween is over and I get next to free punkins Usually a dozen or so.

Pretty rough neighborhood, when the kids throw a dozen Punkins at your house.

Bet they don't even know you eat the seeds!

I did some over the weekend with a mix of MHGP, Owen's BBQ Buffalo Wing seasoning and some seasoning salt. Frickin' awesome. The seeds from 5 pumpkins were gone in less than 24 hours. It was like crack.
