  • Bacon wrapped meatloaf on the Weber

Haven't done one for a few years...I will not wait so long again! Finished with a light glaze. With a side of mashed taters and peas. Had trouble getting the temps down in the beginning, should have had it set before I put it on, but eventually got it under control. Everyone enjoyed. Used my new silicone lifter Upper thing, over lump with a chunk of apple wood. Had the meatloaf over the vortex indirect. Put tinfoil in the bottom of the vortex to catch the grease. The bacon on the bottom wasn't crispy, next time I might put it over the coals for maybe 5 minutes to crisp at the end. Used the actual beef, veal, pork combo instead of straight hamburger. Think I'll go back to just burger. Definitely a keeper!

Looks great! The only way to cook meatloaf IMO. Do you think that unit you set it on stopped the bacon from crisping? FWIW I put them directly on the grates with a bacon wrap. No wrap, I use a pan most times.

    Bet it was awesome

It has airflow under it, I put tinfoil in the bottom of the vortex so I don't think it let the airflow circulate on the bottom to crisp. Not sure.

That didn't make sense, the thing I have it on would allow airflow, but I cut off airflow with the tinfoil I think.

                              Oooh! !

I happen to be making a “mini” pizza loaf today. Must be the weather?

Using that “Firehouse” hot sauce as a glaze.
