They got some live crawfish in at the local supermarket. Did a small stovetop boil for the family.
i don't see the requisite chilled cervesa, mallet,or roll of paper towels.....

Nice!.... I have never had Artichokes or Brussel Sprouts in a boil, but both are great ideas.... We typically use shrimp & clams in place of mudbugs, but maybe this year we go the mudbug route.... Looks great !
Is that a Hot Sausage I see semi-hidden in the pile

Never tried them, hope to some day they look great.
think of 'em as mini-lobsters... decent amount of work, but with the right combination of friends, beer, and other goodies (corn, potatoes, etc) it is a great time.

Boiled a couple of pounds living in New Orleans. Usually waited till after Easter to have a boil, thats when the prices would come down. We usually figured 5 lbs of crawfish per person. With enough blue crabs, corn, potatoes, and sausages to wet the appetite.
With Jazzfest going on and pictures of crawfish popping up. Makes me wanna fly south!
