  • Homemade Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs and Sausage!!

Well I decided to make some Home-Made Meatballs to go along with some Home-made spaghetti sauce from this year’s tomatoes that I had pureed and froze. I have about 25 quarts of frozen puree from the past year.

So I started out with some fresh homemade meatballs.

    3 lbs 80/20 ground meat
    1 pound ground pork 80/20
    1 pound ground veil
    6 cloves of Garlic
    5 eggs
    2 cups seasoned bread crumbs
1 cup Locatelli cheese (this is a bit sharper than Romano)
    Salt and pepper

Fry up the meatballs to put on a crust on each side, they will finish cooking in the sauce!!

Once meatballs are finished scrape bottom of pot and then add 1-2 lbs of fresh linked Italian Sausage.

Cook sausage through. Scrape pan bottom again. Add tomato paste to oil and cook for about 2 minutes. Add puree.

Add meat back to sauce and a potato that has been pealed to soak up the acidity from the tomatoes.

Also add about a ½ tablespoon of salt. Bring to a boil for one hour then down to a simmer for two additional hours. During the last hour add basil to your liking and check for salt to see if you need more.
Cook up your noodles and add your sauce and a few meatballs and sausage and a slice of garlic bread and you have a great meal.

Thanks for viewing and have a great evening

Great lookin plate, LOVE meatballs, sausage and gravy

Been looking for a new sauce recipe cause I'm overly happy with the one I use, gonna bookmark this for when the maters are in full swing this Summer.
I usually just drop my raw balls and sausage in the simmering sauce to cook and occasionally smoke them a bit first then into the sauce.

Great looking meal Brian, looks awesome!
Have a question though, when cooking meatballs for the spaghetti I just do not understand the word "fry" coming from a fellow Yoder owner... Just razzing ya, but it would have tasted even better...
