Would like to hear what brand of pellets everyone uses, since there my be some brands out there that I haven't heard of and my like to try.
Also what flavor of pellets do you prefer and is there a combo of pellets that you like?
I really like BBQr's Delight pellets they add great flavor to the food. I have used peach, hickory, oak and sugar maple pellets. But I have not tried to mix pellets yet.
I have been using Lumber Jack 100% hickory and 100% cherry and really like then!! They are working very nicely for me. I got them from Todd Johnson (TJohnson) from A-MaZe-N smokers! He has a new pit master blend that I will be trying out shortly with an new little toy he sent me
I also have used the BBQ delight but I like the 100% Hickory.
Check out this link to get a good idea what is going on!!
My Yoder loves to Eat Lumberjack 100% Pellets. This weekend I picked up 5 bags of 100% Mesquite they were not Lumberjack though. I have never seen so much smoke come out of the Yoder before.

All pellets are not the same.....
Some pellets are 70%-80% Oak or Alder, and 20%-30% Flavor Wood. These are called "Blended Pellets"
In other words, you're only getting 20%-30% of the flavor of wood you think you're buying, and the rest is Oak or Alder.
Look for the words "Flavored" or "Blended" on the bag
100% Hardwood does not mean you're getting anything other than hardwood in the bag.
It's kinda like buying a burger a McDonald's. Yes, there's "100% Pure Beef" in the burger, but they don't tell you what else in in the burger for filler.
Some manufacturers, like BBQr's Delight, are upfront about the mix in their bags, while others have labels that are much more confusing about exactly what's in the bag.
I can also sell "Oak Blended Pellets", but why, when I can sell 100% Flavor Wood Pellets, and the customer can decide how to mix their own blend of pellets.
The only "Blended Pellet" I sell is a mix of Hickory, Cherry and Maple. It's a great all around pellet for smoking, and puts out plenty of BTU's.
Some pellets like Peach, Apple or Mesquite, just do not produce enough BTU's for cooking, and they are often blended with Oak or Alder.

Okay...Lumberjack is a very good brand of pellet. They use NO oils...period, no flavor enhancers, only water to clean their machinery, and the contents of their pellets are clearly labeled on every bag. Not to mention that they are the cheapest pellet for those of us here in the Midwestern states. But, in order to get a good cost, I had to buy bulk...1000 lbs. However, at 28 cents per lb. DELIVERED price for a 100% pure flavor wood pellet....dirt cheap if you ask me.
I only use the 100% types. I have Hickory, Maple, Cherry and Apple(from a different supplier). I am very partial to Hickory and Cherry, and mixing them in a 50/50 ratio seems to be my favorite. The Maple is weak on flavor in my opinion, probably won't be buying much of that again.
I have tried a few other brands...BBQ'ers Delight, perfect mix and another one out of Minnesota that I can't remember the name of. All of which fell short on flavor in my opinion.

Hi Flatbroke. I'm new to pellet cookers, but I have talked with other Traeger owners and also read online at other forums that people are using other pellet brands in their Traeger's with no problems.
Thanks stogie. Does the fire rod on the yoder go bad frequently like they do on the traeger? Yoders look like real nice unit. It would suck to spend that much and have a defective detent rod. Mine is out and i start my traeger with boyscout juice added to pellets in the fire pot
I would think that any pellet grill will have hot rod burnouts, just the nature of the beast, Some just go sooner then others. I've had my Yoder since February and no trouble with the hot rod, yet.
