I was look'n for plastic barrels to collect rain water for my garden and found a guy that said he has the plastic barrels I'm look'n for AND he has two stainless steel drums!!
First question: If this guy isn't BS'n me, what would be a fair price to pay for a SS drum?
Second Question: What things should I be aware of prior to purchasing a SS drum that will be acceptable to convert into a smoker?
Third Question: Got any plans on "how to" build a drum smoker??

I expect he may want pretty good money for it. but sounds like he might be a wheeeler dealer. you might be able to smoke some meat for him in trade.

well most of the time bad ju ju is packaged in stainless steel... are if you get lucky food grade material is in there. I would really want to know what was in there pior useing it for cooking.

I have found em used fer 100 - 160 bucks plus 50 bucks fer shippin. They be headed drums so the head would have ta be removed, an that ain't that big a deal. These had orange flavorin in em.
I wouldn't buy anythin that had pesticides er acids in em. Just me, most other thins can be cleaned up perty easy.
Bubba put up some basic plans an tools an supplies which I thin the other fellers have posted fer ya. Look round at several different builds an pick the idears that tickle yer fancy.

I looked far and wide for suitable drums for my big baby double. Finally a friend mentioned a guy the next town over that had piles of drums and I got SS lined drums for 15 bucks. So look hard you might get lucky.
