I love Cajun seasoned foods and have bought and tried many over the years, but they all are way too salty to me, so I've given them all away. All but one that is. I finally tried the Trade East Cajun Seasoning that's carried by the Gordon Food Services stores in our area. Almost no salt at all, just all flavor. I sure hope they never discontinue it.
Thanks for the recipes. I'll give them a try but add the salt a little bit at a time.

You can buy some salt free cajun seasonings down here, but I enjoy the salt. A lot of dishes down here are with rice and that extra salt gets balanced out when added to the rice...In my opinion...
Thanks cajun. Saved these. Been told to watch my salt too so don't use as much these days. Now I can make my own and lower the salt content. Love to add it to flour and fry my fish.

Many commercial rubs and seasonings are really very expensive salts- seasoned salts. Alot cheaper therefore a much higher profit margin in these types of preperations than ones done at home, or like the recipe I use that McCarthy Spice is mixing for me.
