Any of the Yoder stick burner are awesome! Built well and will last a lifetime. For the money on a good entry level offset stick burner you can't go wrong with a Cheyenne. The only thing to consider for me would be if it has enough capacity for what you are going to do. For the backyard cooks, it should be perfect.Smokem if you got em

Yes, I have the Yoder Cheyenne and it is a great smoker. It is the same as all Yoders just smaller. It is 1/4 inch steel and the fit and finish is excellent. I ordered mine with the heat distribution plate which I think is an absolute must as it will evenly distribute the heat and the smoke from the firebox. The charcoal grill add on was a waste of money as I have never used the pit as a big charcoal grill. It is still sitting in its cardboard container. I do not have a pot warmer and I am glad that I did not get it. I open and close the fire box door every hour to check the fire and add more wood. I would have to remove what ever was sitting there if I had it.
In so far as smoking food, I have done 3 very large pork butts (9 lbs. each) and on one occasion 2 very large (13 lb.) briskets. We generally smoke for just us, 2 folks and a limited amount of company up to 8 people.
If you are going to cook for a large number of folks 15 to 20 or over that number, consider the larger unit like the Wichita or Loaded Wichita. Make sure that you are going to do this for more than 4 times a year to be worth while.
On the ranch in New Mexico, I have the Loaded Wichita and the Santa Fe which resides on a trailer. The Santa Fe is for large numbers and is donated to the community on holidays and special events like the fourth of July. It is also great when we butcher a steer and put a lot of good meat on it for a big celebration. But then we need a crew of volunteers to manage the unit and keep feeding the fuel. We cook for a lot more folks on the ranch.
Remember, the larger the unit, the more fuel you will need.
However, one big advantage of the Wichita is that because the grill area is larger, you can still be cooking a pork butt in the middle and just keep another warm at another end or on the second shelf.
If you have the Cheyenne, you can always cook one load on one day and another load on the next day. I have not yet been required to cook for more than 8 folks, so I did not need to do that. At my Texas home, I also have the Yoder 480 which is an excellent cooker that I could also use at the same time if the need required.
I do not think that you can go wrong with any Yoder Product. They have a really great warrantee and strong customer service. But, my products are very reliable and I have not had to use this service except to ask a "how to" question. Just a note, I have made not modifications to the Cheyenne or the other units and use them as they were delivered.
My Cheyenne, and the Loaded Wichita both have the big wheels and weigh quite a bit. The Cheyenne alone weighs 360 lbs. and the Wichita weighs 610 lbs. By lifting the handles at the opposite ends, I can roll each unit easily on a concrete or patio block surface.
Hope this helps.
