seeing all the replies, and no one asked, "Why buy a flat when a full packer is cheaper?"
I realize you have to trim out the flat but its easy enuff.

let us not cry because we lost someone, but let us smile because we enjoyed their company for what time was allowed us!

Anything under 3 bucks is obviously worth it, I'd grab it. Last time I checked at RD here in Jersey it was about $2.75 for full packers 14-18 lbs.
Will be doing one for St. Paddy's day, and will report in a week or so what I find.
Lang 36 Patio, a few Webers, 2 Eggs, plenty of gadgets and a MES 40 Gen 2.5 electric for bacon and sausage.
My best asset however is the inspiration from the members on this forum.

I'm currently in St Louis and saw the local chain Schnuks had CAB trimmed flats for $5.69#
Once you go Weber....you never call customer service....

where did you end up picking up your briskets.

I am still in search but have some time, jut gotta get mine by the 9th of march.

I did see some briskets @ Super W-Mart yesterday, wife told me to not bother & just go to one of my butchers and buy a good one...

gotta love it when folks actually listen to what you ramble on about.
Just because you welded some shit together doesnt make it a WSM.

Have not picked one up yet, my "projects" are running way behind, slicer in in rehab, sink is in rehab oven is broken...etc.

I will probably end up at RD or something downtown when I have to pick my engine parts up in the next few weeks.

When I get this bacon done I will be ready to roll on the brisket for St Patty's day.

I may call CP over in New Lenox and see what he has coming in.

nice little butcher shop, had some of their brats a couple weeks ago and was impressed.

places like CP, Wurst Kitchen, Ream's, Inboden's, etc., are why I dont bother with making my own sausage.

                        lol, sorry..

I am just joking about the aging chamber, kind of a running joke re: a former member and his methods.

buying and curing the briskets im not joking aboot.
