  • GFS Brisket???

Hey has anyone ever bought a brisket from Gordon Food Service (GFS)? I am pricing them because I am feeding 80 people at my daughter's wedding reception. I found they have the best price in town but since I haven't seen them, (the store I went to didn't have any in). So if I buy 40+pounds of brisket from them, will they be decent quality? Anyone with experience please let me know. Thank you in advance for the info!

what is the grade on them?

Get one and cook it and see how it is... cant be much worse than the ones from Wal-Mart...and they are not that bad...

Aw hell even a lesser quality brisket cooked right will turn out great...

I understand the pressure of cookin for a large get together...I cooked brisket and pulled pork for 130 at my daughters wedding...

      Good luck...

Thats true about the Walmart briskies. I'm sure these will be okay. They told me they are USDA choice briskets. It's just that I couldn't see them and its a chunk of change to lay down on briskets I've never seen. Thanks for settings a little more at ease.

              GFS Brisket

I know this thread is old but figured I'd post an update, since I found this via Google and assume others will as well.

The GFS briskets appear to be of quality "Choice". I haven't yet smoked one, but will eventually.

I tracked down this "BBQ Guide" they offer on their site, and it indicates Choice:
