I love ice cream. I even set up a monthly event at work that I host called Sundae Wednesday where I start us out with a few gallons of ice cream, some homemade hot fudge and a salted caramel or bourbon butterscotch and then everyone that wants to join in can bring a topping. It is amazing how well people have latched onto this...it truly is one of the most attended break-time events at our facility.
At one of the events, one of the engineers brought a machine called "YO-NANAS"...and he fed it frozen bananas that turned out a frozen banana ice cream. It was really pretty darned good! So I got to thinking that my Ninja blender could easily do the same thing. I think it is even better, as the high speed whips it into a light and airy soft serve that is really astounding. Here...Check this out.
Use some ripe bananas.

Peel them and put them into a zip lock bag

Freeze them and bust them into little chunks

Into the Blender they go

Pulse the blender and it kocks them into smaller chunks

At this point I added about 1/4 cup of skim milk to get it spinning in the blender. Keep going and you can see how the banana is turning into a creamy soft serve ice cream.

It's done, and delicious!

I added a bunch of cinnamon and some vanilla this time.

This shows how creamy and delicious the banana ice cream is. It is really a wonderful trick.

If you have kids, this would be a must try idea.
