  • Which Masterbuilt smoker to buy?

I have read through many posts and I have come to the conclusion that I should still with the Gen 2.5. I have now been looking to purchase one, but there are some I still cant decipher what Gen they are. I have rd through “bears” posts as well. I have found this one at cabelas :

    https://www.cabelas.ca/product/10567...lectric-smoker

    What gen is that one?

I have also looked on the masterbuilt site at the MES 340G :

    https://www.masterbuilt.com/collecti...lectric-smoker.

Which one am I better off going with, for even temps, even smoke and Reliability.

    Thanks for your help!

      I do not use one.
This post from Bear is the best I know of, but they have made changes since then and combined models.

This is the one I just bought last fall. Only used it once so far but it seems much easier than my propane Smoke Vault was.

I wouldn't trust Cabelas, I bought the Gen 2.5 from Sams Club It's the real deal.
Lang 36 Patio, a few Webers, 2 Eggs, plenty of gadgets and a MES 40 Gen 2.5 electric for bacon and sausage.
My best asset however is the inspiration from the members on this forum.
