  • Free flower bulbs

    Howdy all,

I've got a bunch of bulbs that I decided not to use since we have had such a nasty drought and I'm fighting to keep what gardens I have alive. I hate to see them go to waste and I don't have room to store them anywhere so if anyone is interested in doing a trade to cover the shipping you can have them. Bottom line is I don't want to have to pay for shipping. I will take them out of the boxes as they are packed in plastic bags for shipping.

100 caladium bulbs - They do great in a shady area. Can take morning sun, but not hot afternoon sun. Will not come back each year, but I dig mine up and replant each year. They multiply too. Worth the effort IMHO.

9 hostas - I love hostas and have quite a few. Will come back each year. Do best in shade. Look great planted with caladiums.

10 bleeding hearts - Stunning plant that comes back each year. Another shade lover. Blooms in the spring and has beautiful, delicate foliage.

4 peonys - Sun to partial shade. Blooms in the spring and is really pretty flower. Hot pink. Comes back each year.

If nothing else...if noone takes you up on the deal. I'll pay for the shipping if you would go through the trouble. use one of those usps boxes.

That will work Doug. I think I can get them all packed in one of the large priority boxes that's around 15 bucks. PM me your addy and I'll get them in the mail. I just don't want them to go to waste.

I am soooo tempted. Those caladium are very pretty but I didn't realize they weren't perennials. That's a lot of work of planting and digging up every year. Same with gladiolus...I love those but I can't see planting and then digging 'em up.

I've been thinking about where I could put some of these all morning...ever since you posted this and I think your offer is cool but I'm going to pass. I know... that's of me. I have never turned down free flowers or bulbs from anyone.

But it's just that I have some areas around our house I want to turn into a garden but the areas aren't ready yet. I do LOVE bleeding hearts though...this is one my Daddy gave me and it's about 10 years old.
