  • Gym Shoe Sandwich For Lunch Today

Had to do a meet and greet for a customer rep on some new vehicles in Chicago today. I find that I am not enjoying going to Chicago like I use to.

I was searching for a place to grab a sandwich and the found a little hole in the wall fast food carry out and convenience store all in one place (bullet proof glass and turn style) And on the menu was the famous "gym shoe" or in this place jim shoe sandwich.

Three of my favorites combined in one sandwich. Roast beef, Corned beef and Gyro of course you need to add in the tzatziki sauce and giardiniera.

This is usually a sandwich I would find on the south side but have not had one for years.....so I had to have it.

This place chopped up the meat a little too much for me and the giardianra was not hot enough for me.

This is what I was looking forward to. What I got was this chopped up like a cheese steak. Still hit the spot.

Sure is. I cant figure out since im getting older either I am gaining some common sense or my stones are shrinking. 30 years ago there was not a place in Chicago that I was afraid of day or night. Even the places that I was not welcome. Today I feel the need to keep my head on a swivel just driving down the street.
