  • The "Jake" Sandwhich

Local place "Dirty Daves" makes a great sammy called The Jake. It's excellent & this is our interpretation of it. This is a base for a quick, easy & excellent dinner. There are probably a thousand different versions of similar sammy's, so experiment with other ingredients

    - Good quality fresh soft roll
    - Pepperoni
    - Ham
    - Salami
    - Provolone cheese
    - Lettuce
    - Tomato
    - Italian dressing
    - Parmesan cheese

Split rolls & put ham on bottom & provolone on top of ham. On the other side of the roll, put on pepperoni & salami. Put under broiler until the cheese melts & gets a little darkened.

Have finely shredded lettuce & thinly sliced tomato ready to go. After broiling, apply a pretty thick layer of the lettuce on either side of the bun, then drizzle Italian dressing into the lettuce, then sprinkle on Parmesan cheese & top with tomato slices. Put the 2 separate parts together & slice at a bias & serve. Fantastic & easy

Nice looking sandwich for sure. Where I come from, if you baked it in a pizza oven, they'd call it a cosmo. Grew up on them in upstate PA.
