Well, last week I fired up the BGE and Vortex and did some excellent Tri-Tip steaks.

I made some extra just so that we had some leftovers so I could make some sandwiches and try Snarlingiron's Steak Soup:

First the soup. I followed his directions and made a slight change. I aded about 1Tbl of fresh diced jalapenos to the mix just cause we like heat around here. I was expecting it to be much richer based on his account so I must have missed something. Anyway, it was still excellent. Here's the process:

And dinner with some toasted and buttered potato rolls:

It was quit good. The kids loved it and went to town and soaking it up with the bread. My wife added some grated sharp cheddar and really enjoyed it. Her suggestion was to add some noodles to it next time.
With the other steak, my son requested a simple recipe my dad taught me years ago, a steak sandwich. The trick to this one is that it is served cold.
I lightly toast some Italian sandwich bread. When it's cool, spread some butter on each side. In the meantime, some simple ketchup and horseradish mix. Throw on the steak and enjoy. It's so simple yet so good.

and some relaxing with a beer and the game:

I know having left over steak is a rarity for most but you might consider grilling a little extra next time as you're missing out on some quick and delicious food.
Thanks for looking.
