  • Canning so far

Here is some of the canning I have done so far this year and some of the purple hull peas. It's been a good one and more to go. Enjoy and cheers.

That would have been my guess. Or some sort of Crowder pea. Good stuff.

Did you blanch them or just vac and freeze?

Blanched for 2 minutes, into ice bath and then to dry and vac and freeze.

Wow! Impressive doesn't even begin to do that justice.

So far I've gotten a few tomatoes and about a dozen cukes.

I love the idea of canning, and would love to do that one day... just need my motivation to catch up to my to-do list first!

It's a nice felling putting up food and sipping on some Makers.

Round these parts a box of canning lids is still nonexistent. Box of jars, rings, and lids are showing up.

Same here. Bought some reusable lids and seals in the spring and they seem to work pretty good.
