  • Thermopro Tempspike Plus or Meater 2 Plus?

Ready to pull the trigger on one or the other. Want the lack of wires for rotisserie and the new high temp for campfire cooking. What's best?

Due to the status of the economy, all my temperature measuring technology is several years old and most have wires. LMAO....

I have the meater+ and I am m'eh. I liked it it at first. When it works its spot on. That said sometimes it doesn't want to work. That seems to be happening more frequently. I have to reset it. And their customer service sucks. That's if you can get a hold of them. I can't recommend because of the CS issue and it seems to be like wearing out.

            That's good to know.
I had considered getting one based on your review.
            Now, not so much.

I GOTTA think- self contained electronics in THAT environment have a pretty limited lifetime. I’d think the senders would be considered “disposable”... maybe 15 cooks and that’s what ya get. Electronics HATE heat.

Well I sent it back today. I got it on sale. This info that I am sharing is based on AMAZON where I purchased mine. Here's what I noticed....
                1. It went on sale early 2024.
                2. Most of the 1 star reviews on/for the meater + are were all purchased 2024
                3. Beginning to think with the new model they introduced and all the issues similar to mine they knew they had a lemon and sold them anyway.

Yes there are reviews with more stars, but the 1` star reviews are all saying basically the same thing, and have the same complaint.

I was going to keep my mouth shut because I was embarrassed for getting screwed over, and no one seemed interested in one. But now that people are asking I had to come forward with my disappointment.

I get interested in something and then start shopping for the best deal. In the process, I sometimes lose interest and end up with nothing. Heck, it took me a dozen years or more to upgrade my two Maverick et73 (or whatever it was called).

This is totally me. I probably have 200 tabs open in my browser from things I started to research, then lost interest or something else took over. And then it's months or even years before I get back to the first thing
