  • Well tried Rudy's BBQ in Chandler....

Ribs had a good flavor even without sauce, Sauce was good with a thinner more vinegar taste. The moist brisket tasted like Roast beef, not much flavor and they cut all the bark and fat off when they gave it to me. Didn't have my camera so I took one with my phone. Cost 16 bucks for 1/2 # of both and nothing else, what you see on the plate is 16 bucks worth.

Now I know why folks want me to smoke or grill their food lol....

That brisket looks weak. Like made in the oven weak. I love to watch Guy's Diners, Drive ins and Dives show. I cringe when he rolls into a place that does the water, seasoning oven method for brisket. I only buy ribs for a few places as most are just not that good compared to my own.

The funny thing is that this is what most folks are used to and many think it's the chit. I wouldn't mind paying $16 bucks for that plate if it was really good. I think I'll just cook my own. Thanks for taking one for the team G.

Hey Big, Im on the other side of the valley from you, but the local bbq restaurant scene is much like what you described on the West side too. Some dishes are OK to good, while others are more along the lines of 'what were they thinking?'. Mrs. Otis & I took the family to Dillons last week and their bbq is slipping too. The only bbq restaurant that I can whole heartedly endorse is Q to U in Anthem. He was a competition bbqer and when I get my own q to his everyday level, I'll be happy.

If you're ever headed to this side of the valley, give them a try.

My favorite in the Valley is Honey Bear's. A half rack of ribs is aboot $14 & a BBQ sammy is aboot $6.
They have some good sides as well.

Dillon's puts out a good brisket sammy. At least they used to, I've not been there in a while, wrong side of the Valley.
              .

Not to mention the occasional campfire

I like Honey Bears sammies but the ribs I have had a few times and always seem dry to me. OK in a pinch and it's just around the corner from where I work. I eat more of the fried catfish than anything else but it's only offered on Thurs and Fri.

Don't have restaurant here, but Rudy's BBQ sauce is awesome. Dana shipped me some a few years back.
